I was diagnosed with Lyme about a month ago been on Doxycycline 400 mg for just over 3 weeks.
Ive been really tired / foggy / out of it, as my only real physical symptom.

However i noticed for about a month or two before my diagnosis, when I started feeling ill, that my eyes looked as if I had a lazy eye ( and I dont / never had). They look like they are drifting apart or not focusing together..

Friends are telling me they dont notice anything different but its really bothering me. I dont have any pain or vision problems at all.

So im wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to develop a lazy eye or have eyes that drift / appear different with lyme? And if so, does it correct itself with treatment or is it permanent damage??

Something is definitely not right, my Lyme doctor said " its possible" but thats not a very reassuring. Hoping someone can share any info / experiences they may have had with similar symptom.

This is common in Lyme. Instead of converging (coming together) on the horizon, the vision diverges (separates). I think this has to do with the ocular muscles.

I also felt like I had a lazy eye, as this symptom was much worse on one side for me.

It is improving with treatment.

There are many threads here on eye support and vision correction. So far, all I've done for my eyes is treat my Lyme.

Thank you for this info, its definitely reassuring to hear about someone whos experienced the same thing.. Ive been really frustrated! Glad to hear it gets better!!!

I just wonder though if this is a sign of Neuro-Lyme and if so, am I on a proper treatment ( 400 mg of doxy - orally per day.)?

Do I need iv antibiotics..?

Your body is busy fighting infection - and uses up all its energy doing that. Your muscles are getting tired. Including the muscles that control your eyes.

Try putting a drop of Peppermint essential oil on your finger and dab above each eyebrow. Cup your hands over your nose and inhale for 30 secs (will wake up your brain and allow you to focus). The oil will refresh the muscles.
