My husband just got out of the hospital 3 days ago with early lyme/menigitis. He was on liquid antibotics for 48 hours and now on Dioxcycline. He is feeling much better, the rash is gone, he can turn his head, the lymph nodes are not swollen, the pain in his hips and back are gone and he has his energy back. (he might of had it for 3 weeks ) The only thing he has is a residual headache and an ache in the leg he was bit in. But now that he's feeling better he says that he gets like a strong heart beat once. Than it stops for about 10 mins and happens again. Anyone hear of this? Thanks

I get heart palpitations with Lyme and it was one of my first symptoms. He could be killing off the bugs and causing a herx reaction. Im not a doctor but since you caught it so early I hope you continue the antibiotics for at least 4-6 weeks. Please don't stop early or it could all come back.

I see you have posted in Seeking a Doctor for a lyme-literate medical doctor(llmd) near your area. Going to a llmd is a must, so hopefully someone will be along with some names for you soon!
Heart palpitations are very common with lyme and other tick borne infections. They can be very scary when you don't know what is causing them, but most heart palpitations are completely harmless.
I have had palpitations since I first got sick with lyme & babesia.
I would first work on getting an appointment setup with a llmd. Since there will probably be a wait before you can get in, you should have him visit his PCP in the meantime for your own comfort that it is nothing serious.
Educate yourself on lyme and co-infections as much as you can. This site is a wonderful place to start!
Glad you found us. Good luck!
