I am 5 months pregnant. My doctor put me on ceftin & azithromycin about a month ago. He said that on these meds, my baby has a 99% chance of not getting infected with Lyme in vitro. Does anyone have any expereince with this? Is this true? Is it potnetially dangerous? I am terrified of my second baby having Lyme, as my first was diagnosed 6 months ago (and is now getting treatment). But of course I'm worried about taking the antibiotics as well. Thoughts?

I have a three month old and was on ceftin with my pregnancy. I have heard others on this board being on 2 abx while pregnant, which makes me

feel that I might have been undertreated while pregnant. I do not know the percentage but I read that if you take abx while p.g. the chances
of passing it on to the fetus is very slim.

Why did your doctor just put you on abx a month ago? They should be started from the begining. So far my dd is doing good. I do have to say that I have had major flare-ups after having her. How are you feeling. Congrats and enjoy your little when he or she is born they grown so fast! Email me if you have any questions.

Can I ask what your youngest is taking for what I assume is congenital Lyme? My sister has yet to start her Lyme positive child.

I do not have any advice other than I would have done anything to prevent what we are living with now. I just didn't know.

I think there is a facebook group for mothers of congential Lyme kids. Maybe they would have a more concentrated group familiar with what you are going through.

I wish you and your family well!

I just got my 3 year old sons urine test from Igenex back - positive. I also have multiple co infections, did you both have your children tested for everything you have? Did you get their blood taken? Also, would you mind sharing what treatments your children are on? I will keep you and your pregnancy in my prayers. When my treatment is done, I would love to have another one too.

Overwhelmed:
My kids are teeagers so can't really compare. I did get my healthy son tested and he had Lyme and started treatment. We did blood work through IgeneX and than lots through LLMD. My kids are on Burroscanno's Treatment Guidelines. My youngest is 10 months on IV.
My kids ended up having my exact same coinfections and all 3 of with same common viruses. After that we all 3 are different in symtpoms.
I was told there was an active facebook group of mothers of children with Lyme or congenital Lyme.
I'm sorry your son has Lyme!!
