Hi everyone,

I have read through all the old posts and I'm still not too clear about the probiotic thing.

My husband has been back to treating for 3 weeks now, white tongue and doc says to double up on our 30 Mill probiotics but didn't really ask what kind we were on, so I did put this on my list of ?s for next visit.

He's sorta laid back but we have already been through the wringer with all these docs so he is good for us now, I just need to do my own homework as most of us do.

So... here's what I have come up with based on your suggestions:

Take 2 or 3 different probiotics a day. So is it 2 or 3????
I have chosen:
Theralac
Utimate Floral Critical 50 Bill
VSL #3

But I am still confused out adding in the sacchromyces B and if the Florastor brand is ok to use? Some are saying it is not.

Any input.. PLEASE!

I use VSL#3 DS (double-strength) which is by prescription. I believe it has something like 900 billion cultures per packet.

I think the saccharomyces is good because, being a yeast, it is not affected by the abx. The saccharomyces only live for 1 week max, so there is no danger of overgrowth.

I have no clue about Florastor or s.bouldardii. In hindsight, I WOULD have taken it while on abx, but at the time I was on them, I DID NOT take it.

All I know is that I wish someone had told me to take at least 100 billion CFU's per day while on abx. Sounds like you are well covered there.

If you take Florastor, you can't take Nystatin or Diflucan at the same time and I took Nystatin the entire time I was on abx.
