I have doxy but she won't listen to me. She works at a camp and is listening to the nurse who says it is fine. Please help me convince her.

If she's not going to take doxy, then she should be watching for any type of rash and any type of symptoms, especially flu-like symptoms.

How long was the tick attached? How was it removed?

My tick was attached six hours. I got Lyme, babesia, and bartonella from that short attachment. If it was a several hour attachment, I wouldn't mess around with it. If she's working outside, she can always take a different med (Ceftin, Amoxy, Omnicef, etc.) so she can be out in the sun. That's what we did with my son because he was a landscaper.

If it was a few minute attachment, I would watch for symptoms.

Oh boy - if she works at a camp outside, if it's not this tick, it will be another - try to think of people she might listen to - they all need tick repellent protection!

If your daughter is an adult all you can do is tell her about LD. If she won't take the meds then have her be on the look out for symptoms.

Not everyone that gets bit, gets Lyme; so maybe she will be one of those.

Hi cockapoo:

If your daughter could see what my daugher has gone through she might think a little differently. Maybe seeing the young woman in Under our Skin who Dr. J curred after 6+ years.

Its amazing there is a controversy to this insidious disease and Ive found it easiest to show a couple of u tube videos on the controversy.

If you watch this video you can see some of the miss diagnosis.

This is part of Dr. J"s story. He is a saint the the pediatrician parents turn to after they painstakenly learn about the controversy.

Thank you everyone. I am trying to convince her. I got her to take one pill. She is not going to take anymore she says.

She thinks it was on her for only a few minutes. Says she felt it. I don't know. It did have to be removed. Mouth parts were in and that is enough to scare me. There is a tiny red mark where it was.

She says she does use repellent. I agree Robin123 there is so much risk. I told her it is like russian roulette with a tick.

I am tired of fighting. She is an adult and I can only tell her what I think and wish she would do. I feel like people don't realize that what happened to me could happen to them. I didn't ask for this.

She is going to watch for symptoms and swears she will tell me if she gets any. I guess I have to accept that.

I hate that this disease make me look and sound crazy and I am not. I wish I was sometimes. It would make life easier.
