i talked to my doc again and said the pain was getting pretty bad on my lower left. told him i had been doing a fungal defense.

he about went ballistic on me!! he told me i can never, ever do anything of that sort because my diverticulosis is so bad. it's throughout my entire left colon with a patch on the upper section.

he said those cleanses have stuff in them like sand which can irritate the colon causing it to bleed.

so i've orderd the humaworm and looks like it's going back. i certainly don't want to aggravate this at all.

i never put diverticulitis and this stuff together but he said no, i can't do it.

have you ever heard of these parasite cleanses, etc., in people with colon disorders, like diverticulitis, chron's etc., doing a cleanse? he said he tells them all to not do them. too dangerous.

I'm not sure honestly Randibear, but it sounds like you play with fire a lot sometimes!! Meaning taking Abx when you had C-Diff, taking herbals with diverculitis, etc. Gotta be careful.

Smart doc.!

Diverticulitis can rupture (happened to my hubby's dad and he almost died of blood loss).

Keep your bowel healthy...

PROBIOTICS. Good ones. Vary the selection.

Marnie's right. I almost lost my dad last fall to a perforated intestine due to diverticulitis.

Not sure if you've seen this before but it was one of the sites I bookmarked when I had a bad case of what I was told was diverticulitis last summer.

There are some very interesting comments if you care to research some of it.

My dad ended up with an ileostomy and a colostomy. I would take this VERY seriously and get to an ND who is experienced with serious colon issues.

Most allopathic doctors don't know how to help other than removing the colon. By the time they were done with my dad he had most of his colon removed - both the lower and upper.

Don't waste time on this. You DO NOT want to have part of your colon removed.

Hear, hear!! I agree 100% with Terry. I'm not a dr, and am not your dr, but I have been a Natural Health Care practitioner for decades.

You CAN improve diverticulitis with cleanses and natural means. However, you should have the guidance of a very good ND, as Terry suggested. That would be way better than losing part of your colon. And suffering further. MD's don't know anything about this, unless they are holistic. ANd even holistic MD's usually don't know anything much about cleansing.
