My good friend's 9 year old daughter is being treated clinically for Lyme. She has been pretty sick for about a week now. Her lyme Elisa and Western Blot were negative (too soon) but here is what her CBC, etc showed:
"ketones in urine 2 plus, CBC: her neutrophils were very high, monocytes very high, eosinophiles were 0, Lymphocytes were low"
Does anyone understand the implications of this? Her babesia, etc were negative. All through Quest. She was put on Erythromycin, 250 mg, 4 times a day for 30 days. She is improving.

One can have ketones in their urine when they are dehydrated. Had she been vomiting or having diarrhea?
Neutrophils go up with infection or inflammation.
Monocytes go up with infection as well.
I believe certain infections can cause certain numbers to increase. I'd have to do a search online though to confirm that.
Not sure what would cause the low eosinophiles. Stress on the body maybe? The lymphocytes go up with acute infection. OR at least I thought.

Okay. I found a decent site with a chart. Just scroll down a bit to where there is a chart that states...Causes for abnormalities in the white blood cell (WBC) differential count
