Are they going to actually release it as a diagnostic tool or will it be only used as a research and surveillance tool?

"The PLEX-ID Vector-borne test, which is intended for non-diagnostic use, has been designed to support bioresearch, environmental surveillance, and other activities central to the detection and identification of vector-borne pathogens."

It would be great if this could/would be used for diagnosis, but I fear the CDC, FDA, NIH and whoever else has a vested interest in keeping lyme as a dirty little secret will squash any chances of that happening.

I totally didn't catch that line about being used for non-diagnostic use when I first read the article. [Frown] But then again it says "currently" so hopefully if its as good as they are making out to be it will be used for diagnostics at some point.
