I have successfully taken oral clindamycin for 5 years to reduce joint swelling, but now my knees and ankles are starting to swell again, darn it -

So I'm interested in knowing what meds and other treatments have worked for any of you to reduce joint swelling - abx, herbs, supplements, etc.

And btw, I'm allergic to doxy and penicillin.

I was diagnosed with "chronic reactive arthritis" at 23... I am 40... just found out it's been lyme and bartonella this whole time. [Big Grin]

Anyway... about 15 years ago, I discovered grapeseed extract in high quality... or high quantity, whichever is most accessible... keeps the swelling down and the pain away.

That is grapeseed... not grapefruit seed.

For many years(10+) I have been taking Proflavanol (grapeseed extract) from USANA. I am not a distributor... I get mine off ebay.

Interesting, momlyme - I take grapeseed extract capsules from Jarrow, about 50mg/day, and that together with noni juice stops lipomas. Maybe I should take more - what dose do you take?

The ones I have are 30mg grapeseed extract and 100 mg Vitamin C... they are very small tablets. I take between 1 and 5 a day, depending on the kind of day I am having.

If I take 5 and still feel pain a few hours later, I take 5 more [Big Grin]

There is no toxicity level with grapeseed extract.
