One of my teeth was infected and needed a root canal today. I chose to have an extraction instead. However, I would have had to wait a week to get in to see my Oral Surgeon (he was on vacation).
I was in so much pain, I let my former dentist's office (not a bio dentist) extract it. Now, I know for sure they did not remove the periodontal ligament.
Would it be crazy to see the Oral Surgeon next week and ask him to fix the mess I made? or do I just let it heal and hope for the best?

Periodontal ligaments are routinely taken out when a tooth is extracted, no matter GP or Oral dentist.
They are the ligaments that hold the tooth in the socket.
