my doctor told me that soemthing called TruFlora is the best probiotic to take for yeast. anyone ever heard of this? I have an overgrowth of saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is supposedly yeast. it showed up in a stool test. she also gave me a handout on a candida diet and it said that i could eat bread as long as it was yeast free and corn, and rice which surprised me. this doesnt seem like the diet that ive read about on here. is this diet ok for yeast though?

Were you taking Saccharomyces boulardii when this stool test was run? The S. boulardii and S. cerevisiae are very closely related and I've read that if you're on S. boulardii that it can show up on a stool test as overgrowth of S. cerevisiae (which is brewer's yeast). The following quote is from WebMD:
"Saccharomyces boulardii is a yeast, which is a type of fungus. Saccharomyces boulardii was previously identified as a unique species of yeast, but is now believed to be a strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker's yeast). Saccharomyces boulardii is used as medicine."

You have to eat what works for you. That would not work for me. You could eat some of those things, but if the yeast stays, then cut it out.

There are two diets listed below. I pretty much follow the first one ... until I break down and cheat!!! [Cool]
