I'm new to the forum. I have been reading all the older posts regarding any info pertaining to my son's (23) recent Lyme diagnosis/symptoms. This is an impressive forum and it has helped me understand what my son is going through.
His outward "physical" symptoms are a constant drag on his confidence. He is currently struggling with hair loss and facial swelling. His holistic physician seems to think the swelling comes from lymph/spleen issues.
He and I have been trying to pinpoint the trigger, because it "comes and goes", but we haven't been able to pin it to anything. Some days it is the worst when he gets up, and other days it gets worse as the day goes on. He follows a wheat and soy free diet, and very little dairy (cheese 2X wk) and sugar.
He has TMJ pain and wears a night appliance. He is not on ABX, he wants to try treatment without ABX due to past bad reactions. He is on 30mg. Armour and compounded T3 for his thyroid issues. His cortisol levels were in range for the AM but out of range "high" for the noon, evening and night time, dhea was also high. He is doing other test tomorrow to recheck levels and I am wondering if the high cortisol could be contributing to the hair loss and facial swelling.
Has anyone had success treating either one of these problems?
