My PCP had me on doxy for lyme couldn't take it long before horrible GERD etc. stopped the abx till I could get an appointment with the LLMD.

Many test and now on supplements etc. and a low dose of clindamycin.. which if tolerated will up my dose .. This has been going on for 6 months.

Is abx the answer for chronic lyme , if so will the low dose help at all.

I can no longer afford seeing the LLMD but my pcp is willing to continue with treatment . I seem to have some improvement when I stick with treatment but nothing like I would like.

Seems I do almost as well with as without but I don't want this to get any worse.. I am somewhat housebound and have days in bed. There are a few good days every now and then but so question what treatment I should be on.

Venting, tks,

Abx has helped my wife and I. You will feel bad on then for a while as you feel the die off effect.

Our doc started us right on three abx, we have been on the same routine at the same doses from the beginning. It is important to address the cyst and L forms at your treated.

We have made significant progress over the past seven months and hope we only have a few more to go.

One note on dosing, if you're chronic and have nuero symptoms (twitching, blurry vision, headaches, speech problems, numbness, ect.) the Lyme is in your central nervous system and brain.

You need to take a dose sufficient to cross the blood brain barrier or the Lyme will just hide there until you stop abx. I highly recommend you read Dr. Burroscano's (sp) guidelines.

If your PCP is open minded enough to try to help you please refer him/her to the guidelines or print them out a copy.

Good luck with getting your treatment started and finding the road to recovery.

Keep going.. but make sure you are taking s.boulardii .. to protect against c. diff... clindamycin is notorious for causing it.

also take other probiotics

I'm on ceftin and byron white formulas.

I know some do get better with homeopathics, but I have yet to give up on abx.

Antiparasitic herbs and salt/c turned the corner for me and saved my life. I did 4 yrs of abx and I am sure I needed them at the time, but the KEY was getting rid of the parasites because they protect the bacteria.

Parasites/worms play a huge role in Lyme disease. Do search on here for parasites.

they can be part of the answer, but certainly not THE answer.

What is the answer and how do you find it? Especially when you aren't able to get to a doctor much less one out of town.. The many I have seen all different answers. I feel like giving up on doctors and try to treat myself.

Not sure of some LLMDs .. Tried so much and little or no results.

Please don't misunderstand my negativity its reality for me and I don't want to discourage anyone.

Abx only is not the solution according to dr. K.

Dr. W. (who uses the Bionic) said abx is only a shift in disease, but it is very doubtful it helps more than that.

I never relied on abx for getting better. There are other approaches, Buhner herbs the best for borrelia, Cowden for yeast and some coinfections, Zhang for babesia/bart (I think)...

If you think herbs are mild, well they aren't. In doubt, buy cats claw and take a bit of it. It is very powerful against borrelia. I read during these years people that have been years on abx but swore that they never herxed as strong like with cats claw or andrographis.

So, there are other options, the problem is each person has to find their own treatment, specially for coinfections. I would add products like nosodes for bart (Desbio, for example), antiparasitic herbs and treatments (more than HuldaClark though), treat yeast with Sanum homeopathics, and you can get quite a lot done without having to get a doctor.

But you got to try. Try learning energetic tests, they help a lot in deciding what to take, save time and money (when you master it).

My daughter and I never got well with our short term abx treatment. We got multiple bites, all tick borninfections the doctor could test. We got well with very little abx. ABx is my last alternative.

Another alternative for lyme is both Rife and infrared. I know infrared well, and would never do different now (in case we fall sick again because of a new bite or relapse).

There are loads of alternatives, but you got to work on reading and deciding on your own. That is why learning energetic tests can help you decide which product or herb to take and help you on your lonely journey, in case you need to go on your own.

Good luck!
