Anyone who has had bell's palsy i would gladly look for a response to my question. The left side of my face was paralyzed about 3 years ago. Got the regular non LLMD treatment dox, steriods, viral infection meds. Found out I had lyme and the my face was back to normal. Haven't recovered sense in other areas. But about a year ago I noticed facial numbness in my chin and neck sometimes. For the past month or so it has been prevalent in my chin. My question is does anyone else with lyme have this symptom?

Thanks,
JF

I had numbness around my nose and mouth area early in my illness. It cleared up with treatment.

Yes, periodic facial numbness that waxes and wanes. May not have it for months, then suddenly back for an hour or two, very random. My cheeks and around my lips....weird. TS

yes, I have this periodically. In fact, I had it for a few hours yesterday after not having it for the last couple of months or so.

I usually have numbness on my right cheek, right side of the neck.

tickssuck, your symptom sounds exactly like mine, although I only have it on one side of the face.

Yep, i have this symptom off an on, could be just lips, sometimes cheek, other times my neck to my chin. I contribute it to the lyme buggers.

I get it too, although it "feels" numb, but it isn't really, if that makes sense. I am still waiting for a complete dx and labs. diagnoses with SLE 3 weeks ago, but many say I am in denial. good luck.

I haven't had bells palsey, but I have had the tingling & numbness in my face and scalp. Currently, it's driving me crazy-to the point where I've scratched around my eye until it's red & irritated. Seems to be even worse now that I'm on abx. Did anyone find any abx that helped to decrease the symptoms? Any luck with an antihystamine like Benadryl? I'm willing to try just about anything...

I also have had numbness on face off and on. Also, novocaine also caused stronger numbness in face and more widespread and took a long time to wear off.

About ten days ago I had a mole removed on my scalp and the doctor injected my scalp with novacaine and I swear, the tingling and numbness have been much worse. It will be ten days tomorrow since my procedure and I don't feel any relief. I wondered if this had anything to do with the novacaine. Did anything give you relief? I'm miserable...
