so i found a chiropractor that is lyme literate
and he doesn't like the antibiotic approach he
wants to start me on as follows,,,samento, cumunda,
takuna, magnesium malate 1000mg, miracle mineral
support water, 500mg vit,c pills,ascorbyl
palmitate, antioxident protection, and i ordered
some teasel root tincture off line, so what do
you guys think i dont no if i have lyme but im
screwed up and it just fits so im gonna assume
that i do, so all the veterans please give me
some feed back on my protocol, only good news
please no horror stories im already freaked out

I LOVE chiropractors. They've saved my life in many ways.
BUT.... they are trained to reject antibiotics as a viable treatment method. Personally, I would NOT follow his/her advise in this case. (You can tell them I said so too.)
ALL of the chiro's I've seen were very much against antibiotics too, till they got Lyme and the herbs failed to cure them. Then they were begging for antibiotics.
Unfortunately, many of them are now horribly sick because of their delaying the antibiotics. Some have become very disabled as a result. It is so sad to see.
I would not bet my life on the unproven herbs. I'd stick with antibiotics to knock out as much as possible.
THEN, if much better and you want to play with the herbs, have at it.
That's MY opinion- keeping in mind I never wanted to take antibiotics either- but had to in order to survive.

- IMO, and after years of doing just herbs (as no other choice) . . . I do not think this is enough.
If you can look over the different approaches in the ND thread below, you will see that all of the complementary approaches also employ antibiotics WITH herbs and other supplements.
With teasel, I found it did nothing for me, at all. Same with Samento. Others have found both of value but neither one has been overwhelmingly successful for very many people.
If you don't see progress early on, I'd move on.
Allicin is much better if you are going "natural" - (see Zhang's book, but he also suggests antibiotics at times).
Buhner's book is also mostly about herbs but, he might also suggest antibiotics when appropriate.
So, start with Zhang's and Buhner's books. Of all the different things I've done, each of those authors, although differing in approach, are just excellent in their grasp of lyme.
Everyone is so very different but please do look over the various approaches by LL authors in this link.
It can certainly be overwhelming but it's vital to see the scope of treatment approaches and how specific and assertive they are if they are going to work.
I will say, though, that a RIFE machine might be explored. Had I had that early on, it may have made a difference.
But, it has to be done with good support methods, too.
It may take a while to sift through this collection so do follow your D.C.s advice for now, of course. But I'd just not stop there.
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures;
Knowing that support supplements are important, but NEVER enough alone. And knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
You can compare and contrast many approaches.

- About that magnesium. Be sure to divide that dose to 3 x day. The kidneys can't process a full day's dose at one time and all that at once cannot stick around.
Always: magnesium - divide doses throughout the day.
When your teasel arrives, you probably have instructions from your D.C. but, if not, be sure to start VERY slowly.

You might inquire about your D.C. to other lyme patients here - and at your area lyme support groups. You might also find out all the options for treatment around you.

I agree with Keebler If you're going to sway away from ABX, perhaps RIFE might be the way to go.
But if it were me, along with buying a RIFE I would also be buying a home colonic unit to be aggressively detoxing the major die off. With colonics costing $80 each, a home unit pays itself off pretty quickly.

- I keep forgetting about parasites. Be sure to ask your D.C. what his plans are for that issue.
Ticks that carry lyme also very likely carry parasites and they really need to be addressed. I'm thinking, the earlier, the better.
Gael (glm111) & also GiGi, have many posts on this topic.
Same with heavy metals. For some reason, those with lyme are often carrying high toxic metal loads. The sooner that can be assessed and addressed, the better.
If your D.C. is ILADS-educated he should be familiar with these aspects, but not necessarily. -
