Oh my. Broke my right foot. Stepped off the step into the garage and heard "pop" and then a really bad stinging pain. Didn't swell too much until the last couple of days and now the entire right side is all puffed up. Really hurts to walk. It's the long bone. Ain't one thing it's another. So far no cast am waiting on further tests. He said they don't do full foot casts anymore.

Owooo-Ouch Sis,
Not a good thing... prayers going up for quick healing. Stay off that foot... we have a friend who breaks bones really easily and it wont heal right if you don't stay off it.
So sorry this happened to you.

Ouch. Sounds like a metatarsal stress fracture. Those are no fun.
Best wishes on the healing. Usually it takes 3-6 months.

yes that's it. It's the long bone on the outside of the foot cause the swelling is from the top and middle down to the side. It's really puffy looking and very sore to touch. Have another appt this week. Apparently I hit the middle of the foot on the edge of the step and the front of the foot went down. Right now it's cramping alot. We're supposed to go on vacation starting the 24th oh great...

If it's the smallest metatarsal on the outside of the foot, sometimes those take longer to heal, and sometimes those have complications.
Please make sure you're resting it completely, and elevating it to reduce swelling. Ice might also help if the swelling is very bad.
A fracture like this is very stressful. You might think now that you can "handle" it, but in a month or two it will start driving you crazy. Please start taking care of it now so that it's not so hard on you later.
Whether or not you already have back problems... this WILL kill your back. It's not fun at all.

Poor you! If you can find anyone with a PEMF machine to use, it will heal faster. That's assuming the bone is in the right place again.
