I've been on malarone (high dose) and biaxin, as well as amoxy for 3 months now. I had periods where I felt better, but then feel like I'm backsliding somedays.
Once in a while I'll have a good day.
My question is-am I hitting the right thing? Did anyone feel yucky most of the time on babesia treatment?
My main complaint is fatigue, sore thighs and upper arms, my lower legs feel weird and heavy, POTS and occasional nausea (which is actually much better).
Thanks for you help-wonder if I am missing something

Just a little comment yes I felt horrible all the time.
Have now been off antibiotics since november due to high liver enzymes, all my tests are now normal and in july my fatigue started to disapear and i am now active almost all of the time and after many years of fatigue i am almost afraid to say it.
I was a year and half on oral and iv antibiotics but i have to say i not sure i am cured.
I still have drenching sweats and ice cold and have nerve damage etc. Going to start investigating these again this month but yes it is worth it.
Good luck to you.

I think I would die with that much ART! I have enough trouble with 6. Although if it was only 2 days, I might be willing to give it a try.

Babesia treatment was slow for me. I felt bad for a long time. I am much better now but it has been ten months. Hang in there. When you feel you have reached a plateau, try something else.
I started with Mepron/zithro. Then switched to Malarone/zithro/art. Now it is Malarone/ Bactrim DS pulsing rounds of Coartem every few weeks and in between rounds of Artemix (aretesinin, artesunate and artemether). Last week I added 1.5 mg LDN (plan to work up to 3 mg).
Everything is much more manageable. i sure wish I could get off all these drugs with the LDN.
