I want to get my amalgams out, but I am fearful it will cause more lead to be released into my body. I had all of them out 15 years ago, but once my dentist replaced them with composite, it hurt my teeth when I chewed. so he put the amalgams back in! If only I knew... Fifteen years ago my dentist didn't think anything of removing amalgams. I had no protection, and neither did he. That's why my lead is high.
Has anyone had their amalgams replaced and re-tested to check their metals?

Yes. My LLMD does this first thing. I had a hair and urine test (dr's data) then had my amalgams replaced. Then did chelation then another urine test to make sure the mercury was gone.
Then a year later we retested (urine) and I was high in Lead so we chelated again and did another urine test.
The thing about getting your teeth re- filled is that each time you lose some of the tooth.
You will definately be exposed to some mercury when you get them removed regardless of how careful the dentist is.
My Dentist was fearful that my teeth would hurt (I have super sensitive teeth) and he put some sort of coating on them and I've never had any trouble.
