Has anyone taken rifabutin to avoid the side effects of Rifampin? Have you found it for cheaper than $500? What dose did you take? Thanks.

Long story short...had a HUGE flare when starting Rifampin. Lots of symptoms I hadn't had in month and month. It was a rough first 1.5 weeks. But then I started to feel better. But...3 weeks later I had to stop due to high liver counts.
A month later I started Rifabutin but then had to stop due to low WBC.
But..I"m beginning to think it was something else that was effecting my liver (Supplements. Too much GSE, Oil of Oregano, etc). Since I have cut them back a bit my liver has been fine even with high dose Malarone.
So...I'm going to push to go back on it. It is a good drug.
