My daughter has just started treatment for Bartonella.
She just had a baby in August, and during her 9 mos of pregnancy had been relatively symptom free, feeling pretty good.
As she was warned by her LLMD, post delivery, the symptoms came back and quite strongly, too.
One of the things she has had alot of problems with is weakness in her legs -- if she goes to squat, she is very unsteady and has a hard time getting back up, etc.
She asked me today what she could do or take for that, and I drew a blank. I may have read something in the past but between the two of us and our infections, I cannot keep it all straight anymore. LOL.
Does anyone have any history of this?
And if so, any thoughts as far as what might have helped or recommendations as far as supplements, etc. go???
I know it's probably a long shot, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks

yes i have major weakness. if i get down in the floor i literally can't get up. i have to grab a cabinet or piece of furniture to get up.
my legs often feel like they're going to just give out.
as far as what to do, for me, just walking seems to help. if i stay in bed too long, it's much worse, so activity seems to help.
i only take regular supplements like multi, coq, etc., that kind of stuff, so i don'tknow about any supplements.

I had extreme leg weakness from borreliosis. It was my main symptom. It sounds like it's "nothing", but it can be debilitating. I had to make a big decision every time I wanted to sit down or stand up, because I didn't know if my legs could do it.
If you treat the bugs, most of the time the legs get better. You usually don't actually treat the legs.

My shins hurt pretty bad and knees and ankles too...I'm actually feeling less fatigued and try to exercise, but it's my legs that are the worst right now...I don't know which one it is (lyme, bart, babs) but it hurts.

I have this also not sure what critter its from but when I drink 3-4 cups of organic Boneset tea it helps with weakness and other symptoms. I get mine from www.jeansgreens.com
You can read about it in Buhners book Healing Lyme. Its for Babs,Bart, cold and flu symptoms.
It is very bitter but worth it to me. Stevia helps.

I think my leg weakness is babs and Lyme. My legs used to be so weak I was often in a wheelchair. I still have trouble walking when I'm tired, and this is after almost 9 years of treatment!

How is the baby? Was your daughter treated during pregnancy?
Yes, I too, have leg weakness, sometimes more than others. I supposedly only have lyme, viruses, and fry bug, but, strongly suspect bart, as well.

Her LLMD gave her the option to continue treatment during pregnancy - or not.
She opted not to -- he said he felt that since she had already been on treatment for well over a year that there was a better chance that nothing would be passed on invitro.
The baby is great! VERY aware, peppy, smiles, and no problems to date.
Our LLMD had recommended that the placenta & cord be tested post labor, which was done.
It was sent off to one of the "good" labs, and then a repected pediatric LLMD took a look at the results.
Everything came back clean, which is definitely a relief.
However, with these infections, who knows.
So we are and will be monitoring him closely as he matures.

Im the daughter....thank you to everyone who posted. A few people asked which infection was causing it...I believe it is the Lyme. As I am being treated right now for the Lyme first...Im on Omnicef and will be adding Zithro to that in 3 weeks. I have noticed that the wekness has come back and gotten more pronounced as the days go by...so this leads me to believe that it is in fact the Nero Lyme...which was what My original LLMD thought and was treating for. Struggling very much with the Bart stuff subsequently...its very painful and I can't wait to treat that and be rid of it...hopefully. No major Herx yet at this point...just the increasing weakness and of course grumpiness...only on day 8 though. Thanks again everyone.
