I was hoping someone could help me with a question about artemisinin. I have lyme disease but never tested positive for babesia. My headache that wraps around my head goes away when I am on artemisinin and comes back a couple days after I stop taking it. Any ideas? I know it is used to treat babesia so I am a little confused. Thanks.

Co-infection testing is notoriously unreliable and should treat on co-infection symptomology. Frontal migraines are a common symptom of babs and art can certainly help. I would continue that art and see if they go away permanently.

Art should be pulsed, 5 days on and 2 off generally, there's various ways to do it. Detox heavily as the dead debris can literally make you toxic. Hot baths in epsom salts, burber, chlorella, etc. are all good detox methods.

That should be a signal that you probably DO have babesia. Why were you taking the artemisinin??

You need to be taking it with a macrolide so you don't become resistant to it.

Thanks for the replies. 2 symptoms that I couldn't seem to shake were stress headaches (side of the head) that come and go during the day and a weird depressed feeling that also came and went during the day and not every day. My LLMD and I decided to try art a couple of months ago (3 weeks on 1 week off) and the headches pretty much vanished while on it. The on and off depressed feeling is getting better slowly but surely.

I did 21 days of mepron in June and believe that helped but after 21 days I could hardly walk or talk.

Is it ok to take art 3 weeks on 1 week off or should I go to 5 and 2 days?

Really appreciate the responses! Thanks again!
