Hi,

Daughter has flares in her bladder. We test for UTI and most times are neg.

She cannot take the antibiotics for UTI, so we rely on D-Mannose when symptoms present.

Lately, she has noticed that after drinking the Mannose--she feels a flushed feeling in her body, knees get weak, etc.

We use the powdered form mixed in water.

I am worried she has developed an allergy, etc. to the Mannose??

Anyone have issues taking Mannose?

Thank- you

Hi Jane,
I take D-Mannose everyday in capsule form, maintenance protocol. I didn't find much on allergy reactions to the product, however, several mentioned not taking it if one is diabetic. I don't know if switching to capsules would help, but the brand I take is Wellness Edge "UTI Edge" and I get it from thecompounder.com. The pharmacist that runs the site might be a good resource to ask your question to.

I think you will get better results from the capsules. I found that the scoops contained far more than I needed .. and it IS a type of "sugar" .. so .. back to the capsules for me.

could be yeast issues .. though an allergy is possible

compare the mg in each

Thanks gerber and Lymetoo.

I will look into the site Gerber, Thank you.

Well the capsules say 1000mg per capsule and the powder is 1000mg per 1/2 teasp.

Maybe I will try less of the powder per dose.

edit: the ones we have are tablets not capsules. They are Mano-Max brand and the powder is from Vital Nutrients.

I use Clear Tract powder that you can order from Puritan's pride now. Perhaps, your daughter is allergic to the gelatin capsules from other brands. I have never had a problem with it. When I have an infection I take a scoop every hours until I find relief, and then continue for the next few days on lesser amounts/

I use NOW brand from Whole Foods, along with Perfect Cranberry - Bluebonnet brand.

They both come in capsules. So if you think she might be allergic to the capsules, you could open them up and put it in some applesauce.
