This is my second time starting Doxy. I know it can cause increased intracranial pressure and it always causes really bad headaches for me.
How do I tell if this is just Doxy crossing the blood brain barrier or if its intracranial pressure?
I don't have this issue with other antibiotics.

IIH was my first diagnosis and they did not want to give me Doxy due to elevated CSF's (hospital). For me it was so bad that I could not walk and what fixed it mostly for me was IV Rocephin.
After a few weeks I started to decline and eventually my LLMD gave me oral Doxy. This definitely gave me a few days of herx and increased pressure. I was back in bed, but I stuck with it and it now has passed. I am able to take doxy without grand pressure. On occassions I stil feel pressure, but nothing like before.

Thanks Lymed. Doxy was my first antibiotic and I took it for one month. I tolerated it fine until around week 4 when I had so much pressure in my head and the worst migraine, i was in tears. It went away after stopping Doxy.
Now, 11 months later I've added it back in for Bart treatment and the very first pill my head hurt today for 6 hours! This didn't happen before until week 4, so I wonder if this is Bart or lyme or what.
I guess I will stick it out like you did and see if it passes. Was your pressure headaches pretty severe? You said grand pressure...on a scale of 1-10?

Before a diagnosis it was a 10. So severe I just wanted to shoot myself.
I could not walk very far since it was unbearable. Rocephin allowed my CSF to auto adjust within two days. I could then finally walk some and within 2 weeks I felt 90% better. Thereafter I just declined with many other aspects and many other symptoms developing.
I started herbal with my ABX and wish that I had done that a while ago. I feel like I can finally get somewhere now. I have had a few hours worth of those 90% days and it feels great. You just gotta keep on trying different things and discover what works for you.

If doxy increases intracranial pressure, Im assuming that is very bad and must be stopped? I don't think this was a herx but rather a side effect.
