I read the recent threads about Chlaymidia Pheumonia. DS, 12, tested positive, but then we switched docs and not sure if current doc is really treating for this.

We are only taking Rifampin and Ceftin at the moment.

What has been anyone's experience in treating CPN? How long did it take? What meds did you use?

Showmemom,

I was diagnosed this summer. Have been on mino, azith and pulses with flagyl. Doc says I am treating both at the same time.

I also read a lot on www.cpnhelp.org. They have a couple of specific protocols and the one that most of them use is by a microbiologist PHD, David Wheldon that still answers questions on the site.

The major add to the lyme protocol is that I take 600mg of NAC 4 times a day. You can view the Wheldon Protocol at cpnhelp.org.

My cough went away after 3 weeks on ABX and then return about 4 weeks later. It has since disappeared again. I started taking ABX the first week in July and had to stop for 3 weeks in August and one in Sept due to high liver enzymes. I did several Castrol packs and my enzymes are normal for the last two monthly tests.

All the Best, MattH
