Hi All,

Been seeing an LLMD for about 1/5 years. Had an igenix positive test about 2 years ago:
IGM
31 kDa. pos
34 kDa. IND
39 kDa. IND
41 kDa. double pos
IGG
39 kDa. IND
41 kDa. pos

Also had a CD57 of 40 at the time (had this retested early this year and it was at about 90 I think).

I've done many different therapies for Lyme both antibiotics and herbals (currently on samento/banderal and serrapetase for maintenance)

I feel, marginally better. Less fatigue. Less brain fog, but I wouldn't call myself cured by any stretch. Still do get bouts of fatigue, body pains and heart palps on occasion. Anyway this was just background, now on to the point of my post...

I just recently had some additional bloodwork done at labcorp and the following results came in:

C.pneumoniae IgG high titer of 1:128
M. pneuoniae IgG Abs high at 417 (ref range 0-99)
EBV IgG is also elevated at 8.0

Not sure if I should be concerned on the above, don't think so though since we've basically all had pneumoniae before.

What I was concerned with was this:

HSV 1 Igg was high at 4.76

and more importantly

HHV 6 IgG at 28.11 (seems very high as negative is less than 0.76)

I've read that HHV 6 has been known to cause CFS?

I really don't know how to interpret these results, was just wondering if anyone has similar tests and what, if any treatment should be done?

My LLMD mailed me these results without a phone call which typically means, there is nothing to follow up on.

I've read that people have helped CFS with Valcyte...just curious if anyone has any additional info, or if there is any correlation to LYME.

I also had all the labcorp lyme tests done, everything came back negative...

Thanks for anyone who can provide some insight/guidance...

Drew

Yes, Valcyte is used to knock down the HHV6. Stanford did a study on patients with CFS that had high HHV6 titers. Most were helped by taking high doses of Valcyte. I think it was 1 g 2x a day for at least 6 weeks, up to 6 months.

Usually, high IgG is an indicator of past infection, and IgM is an indicator of current infection. Are your IgMs high?

Don't pass out when I say this, but a good infectious disease MD might be able to help you with this

When you are sick with lyme, it weakens your immune system and some of us pick up other stuff.

By knocking out viruses, you help your immune system. Which hopefully means your body will be able to keep the lyme at bay.

You can ask your PCP to try Valcyte, or even your LLMD, if you just can't take the idea of going to an ID doc.

Amanda,

Thanks for the post. As far as seeing a good ID Dr, that's funny I was thinking that. I know one in the NY area that I go to and he works in conjunction with my LLMD, I will get his advice asap.

Regarding IgG vs. IgM, for the HHV6, the only test that Labcorp performed was the IgG Antibody test. No IgM, not sure why...

Thanks for the info!
