ALA is a powerful antioxidant and detoxer so I believe it is very beneficial to take with abx especially to protect your liver. It helps with neuropathy in diabetes and probably helps us with nerve function. I always took it.

I have read NAC is recommended to take when you have bart because it helps break down the bio-film.

Another good amino acid is Acetyl L Carnitine. It is often given with ALA. ALCAR is good for memory, converts fat to muscle and improves stamina. I give it to a horse that cramps and it prevents it, so I think it might help lesson muscle pain in lyme etc. That and Methionine got rid of my tendonitis.

One doctor says not to take ALA with Mepron.

Alpha lipoic acid is used to detox heavy metals so you might start with a small amount.
