Hi LBS:

I belive Igenex consideers this a positive with 2 ** positives in the IgM.

Note this is not CDC positive as band 41, 34 and 83-93 are not in the CDC standard for IgM nor in the NIH test kits if you go to a "regular" lab. (It actually was in the Dressler proposal but they took Engstroms IgM to cut down on the "positives").

Now IMO this clearly shows exposure to the Lyme bacteria. 31, 34, 39 and 83-93 are specific to Lyme.

41 is the "flagella" band which gives the spirochete its corkscrew shape. Not specific to lyme but does indicate a spirochete (syphilis, relapsing, Weils are 3 other common ones it can cross react with).

It is also the one band that shows up early and most often (I read this from one of Steeres papers published back in 86 or 88)

I assume you'be been having symptoms to run the Igenex.

Now you know what you have versus the misdiagnosis.

Welcome and many here can help you or at least be asounding board.

Its amazing there is a controversy to this insidious disease and Ive found it easiest to show a couple of u tube videos on the controversy.

If you watch this video you can see some of the miss diagnosis.

IgM 41 is a CDC band.

Hi Chuck, it was a typo I meant to type 31 (versus 41) is not a CDC band but highly specific to the LB.

31 and 34 were excluded from the CDC standard as they were being targeted by the Lymerix vaccine.
