The three of us herxed at varying degress on tindamax at first. Each month we had less herxing and now no problems at all. It is over a year on the stuff.

I was told to take it Saturday and Sunday but the days can be flexible. I work and found the herx came after the last pill so I moved my days to mid-week and then if I feel bad I have the weekend to recover.

Your post and others makes me think we need to take more. We are twice a day for 2 days a week.

I herxed at the start of rifampin too.

I think we can always start slow. Our doctor would want my son fairly comfortable and would say back off or back down if needed.

Things are never dull. After 3 fighting Lyme, 2 are in remission. Youngest is still sick, age 22. He has new diagnosed Chiari Malformation and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

If you are herxing still from rifampin and zith, would definitely start out slow. Tindamax is hard to take. My first herx after pulsing for 2 days and taking NO other medications was 10 days.

If I were in your shoes would wait until the herxing from the others slows down, and then start Tindimax.

If my daughter had started out at that dose, she would have been deathly sick!

Even taking just one 500mg pill per day was too much for her.

I am going to pm you.

I agree with lymetoo. Follow the doctors orders. I am on Tindamax now. Alkazeltzer gold helps with the herxhiemers.

Hi Tricia:

Our daugher took tindamax from Sept - April and in January started to have an alergic reaction.

My wife called the company and if you have a skin condition (massing of cells) pedicaratosus (sp) then you will have an alergic reaction. This created the spots to highlight and create severe itching.

We keep our daugher on the drug as it was amazing how her neuro symptoms improved while on it.

We did have to stop by mid April as another side effect, anexoria was in full force.

I know she hated taking it.
