This is the most important action we can take today, otherwise we are going to have an awful lot of Medical Questions about how to survive the loss of our supplements -

Go to www.regulations.gov - click on Submit Comment, document type is Notice, the docket ID number is FDA-2011-D-0376-0079

Then we get 20 minutes to tell the FDA why we don't want them to restrict supplements.

What's going on - the DSHEA - Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act - was passed in 1994, and has been protecting our use of supplements.

It states that any new dietary ingredient can go through a simple notification process.

Now the FDA is twisting that to say any new dietary ingredient and product containing any, all the way back to 1994, should be tested. That will cost thousands, maybe millions of dollars, and will put small businesses and manufacturers out of business.

Then we won't have our health supplements. Preventive healthcare will be sideswiped as well, resulting in a lot more health costs.

Even after we communicate with the FDA today, I think it's a good idea to communicate with our Congressional reps and the president and ask them to do everything they can to protect supplements and cancel these proposed regs. I already went ahead and sent communication to everyone.

Robin,

That link does not go through. I tried to delete the coma at the end but that did not help.

So obvious that the Pharmaceutical companies run this country's agenda. Disturbing. I saw my LLMD for the 1st time last month. She prescribed 2 abx and some herbal supplements. I found myself actually scared to take the supplements. I had to snap myself out of it because it made no sense to be fine about taking chemicals but scared to take natural products.

aperture, I go slowly whenever I take natural products, to make sure I handle them ok. You could do the same - a teensy weensy amount, to make sure you pass something.

Anyway, today until midnite EDT is our chance to email the FDA and tell them we do not need new dietary ingredients, ie - natural ingredients, tested!

If you have time today, contact places in town that deal with health supplements and give them the instructions I've typed above for how to email them and what the basic talking points are.

Thx for following through, Viva -

So now we will be watching what the FDA is going to do, and I think people are still communicating with their reps about this. Very important issue for us!
