Any advice about pre surgery supplements to take? Very worried about surgery putting me in a tail spend. Read some where about a doctor on california researching Lyme and cyst in ovary. Would love more info ? Thank you everyone. I have been in a ruff patch lately.

At least this will probably be laparoscopic?

I had this done in the early seventies and it was a major operation. Two later laparoscopic surgeries for me were a breeze.

STEROIDS? Be sure about steroids during or afterward. For some surgeries they are used.

STEROIDS ARE NOT GOOD WITH LYME.

I hope you have a LLMD to guide you on this, too.

For supplements around surgery, I hope you can get counsel of a ND for this. For most surgeries, it's a requirement to be off everything for a while before.

For some herbs, two weeks off is asked (but then they usually don't know about all herbs). If you can get them to add magnesium to your IV, that can really help the liver and reduce pain.

But a ND is the best person with the answers about that, call first and be sure it's one with surgical knowledge.

You might also see if any NDs are on staff at the hospital or surgery center where you will be. If so, great. Find out who they are and schedule a private appointment with them for consult as soon as you can.

Otherwise, you might find one through methods in the thread below.

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

D.Ay. (Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine);

D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine);

Holistic M.D., etc.

Not sure where you are in Maine, but if either of these can't help, you might ask who they know who is closer to you.

I just sent you by PM the names of a LL ND and a LL DO in Kennebunk.

I normally don't have my PM function turned on, so after you read these, I'll likely turn it off again. (I just don't have energy for private mail. It usually require so much more thought.)

Thank you, my LLmd, said to go off everything a week before the surgery. I also am seeing him right before.
