My kid has been treated for lyme for about 1-1/2 years, last 8 months with very good llmd. Lyme is gone, but mycoplasma IGG numbers are still sky high. Strep titer is still high too.

She has had no symptoms for two months except for sore throat for 1 to 2 days which we have attributed to a virus as strep culture was negative.

She's still on abx, ceftin and biaxin and will be for two more months.

Do we really need to worry about mycoplasma IGG? IGM is negative. I need to take her to one more specialist but I was curious of others feedback on this.

I came across this and thought I'd share.

FWIW....my son had NO typical mycoplasma symptoms. Ceftin won't address myco p and I'm not sure how old your child is, but from what I've been told the tetra family seem to target myco p better.

momintexas,

Thanks for that link. Everyone be sure to scroll down as the author was very gracious in continuing to answer many questions for a couple days when that was posted.

Prof. Garth Nicholson's research in Mycoplasma is to be commended. Here is his main site:

He also spoke a the recent ILADS Conference in Toronto. You can view the first ten minutes of that - and purchase the DVD here:

It was over 1400. I think the range is 0-300, I'll double check and pm you.

If she's already been on doxy, mino, ceftin and biaxin, she should be covered right?

It depends on how long she's been on them. Myco p is extremely stubborn and unfortunately takes a long time to get rid of.

My LLMD has me on Transfer Factor PlasMyc for HHV6 and mycoplasma. I had been on biaxin for awhile, too.
