Hi Cleo-- I herxed on it in a random way... Sometimes there was no herx and I just felt better but I can remember times when I was about to shake out of my skin from anxiety it provoked. This was rare. Most of the time, I just felt better! Hang in there... it was very helpful to me!

I have steadily felt better and better since taking it every day, twice/day. I herx every two weeks with other weird herxes in between. As mepron builds in the liver it will start to work on the infection. I don't know that Mepron is supposed to have an immediate reaction, But I started getting cold sweats and chills an hour after my first dose.

The worst part of Mepron for me is the gross feeling it puts in my stomach. But it seems to be doing its job

Some people herx about three days after starting Mepron and then every three weeks or so. Herxes can be intense for some.

Good luck with your new protocol.

Well I think most of the doctors agree that you have to treat babesia with several different medications and in combination at times.

I started with Mepron and did have alot of herxing in the beginning. For the first 6 months fairly intense and with time it diminished.

I added artemesia during that time. I was placed on bactrim for about 3 months. I rotated in several rounds of coartem. I think about 4 in total.

I added Malarone after about 2 years and continued on that for another year.

I tried cryptolepsis as well with the malarone.

The greatest improvement or the steepest upswing was the first year of Mepron at 4tsp daily. After that every medication seemed to add something to my health. There were definate times when I was worse (sometimes I felt like I was backsliding) but if you graphed it over the year it was steady improvement.

Don't forget after you get through the initial phase of treating babesia. It's so very important to start detoxing. Initially I couldn't tolerate that. It was all I could do to handle the medication...anxiety etc...

Hope this helps. It's a long haul but if you continue you really do knock the bugs down and regain some of your health.

Thank you,Katrina,

,How did you detox??
I know I'm no where near that yet..I'm on 2/5ml a day..

.I wondered if I should go up in dose/ LLMD wants me to add Bactrim, which I might be allergic to. Not positive, but told that all my life.

Maybe more mepron, it's been about 4 to 5 weeks.. Seems like it runs out quicker than should, . We measure well ???

I think it's getting to me a bit ,emotions, but rough year so not sure which is what...

Did you have to do more after that for lyme?? or are you done?? or did you find the pot of gold at end of rainbow???

Anybody else??? Going bonkers ,missing my grand-kids and outside and humans.....
Nonna

@ Katrina, lymeboy, willbeatthis: what kind of herxing did you have on the mepron? fevers & pain or more severe neuro type symptoms (tremors, weakness, inability to walk, etc)?????

Got severe neuro symptoms on Doxy ALONE & LLMD wants me to start mepron now (along WITH the doxy AND azyrtho).

You said the merpon needs to be taken in combo w/others to be effective? but I'm honestly afraid to take such a potent combo, after getting so deathly ill on just doxy (had to take a break from it after only 3 months & detox).

starting back on meds today and am scared!

@nonna~ I miss feeling part of life too, hoping we BOTH have a better year than the last! HUGS!
