Brief Personal Lyme History:

2005 or before is when I found a tick attached leaving a target mark small welted when removed.

2009 I began having light sensory issues. Later in the year I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.

2010 diagnosed with Vertigo

2011 diagnosed with Vertigo and Petit Mal Seizures

2012 still have sensory issues and unable to work.

Sensory Issues include visual, hearing and motion.
Light, contrast of light, bright colors, contrast of colors, certain sound tones, motion within a certain range, objects of balance or dividing cause dizziness and confusion and/or a headache.

Sometimes I feel drunk without drinking, off balance, I tend to fall to the right side, forget my personal information like my name and/or have a hard time signing my name.

E.N.T says it is not vertigo, Neurologist says it is not petit mal seizures for seizures are not triggered. I do not know what to do or where to turn for answers.

Being an unemployed single parent who has to stop driving is making life very complicated.

Sorry you are having difficulties.

All that you describe is common with lyme, but also with certain deficiencies. This thread covers a lot of territory that you may find helpful:

Some questions so that we can help you better.

Are you still in treatment for the lyme?

Have you ever been tested or treated for coinfections -- especially babesia?

Answers to these questions will help us help you.

I started having sensory issues this past spring.

I even began Sensory Integration OT and Vision Therapy because the "Drs" who were treating me for, what they thought was, Anxiety, thought I had Sensory Processing Disorder.

I even needed tinted glasses indoors. Like you I developed vertigo and balance issues.

Come to find out, it was all due to infection (Lyme, Brucella and friends) that was in my nervous system.

I hope your are seeing an LLMD.

Are you still in treatment for the Lyme? No, every doctor I have seen until now does believe it could be from the Lyme.

Have you ever been tested or treated for coinfections -- especially babesia? No, this is why I am researching so I can fight for myself and find a LLMD in my area.

Thank You

Do your ears ring by any chance?

Yes my ears ring, hear crickets, a swishing sound like a strong wind blowing back and forth, a fluttering sensation and ear pain.

So why hasn't your Neuro treated you for Meniere's?

The standard treatment is 2mg Valium twice a day.

Disabling dizziness was the symptom that brought me to a crash in 2003. One of the several Neuro's I saw put me on this treatment (god bless that man) and it was a lifesaver.

While not everything works for everyone, this might be worth a shot. You could also try meclizine (which is dramamine) and you can get it over the counter.

They both work by turning off the middle ear, which is either inflamed or irritated from the ringing, and allows you to balance yourself. Meclizine's effects are short lived, so it requires more frequent dosing.

Here's some info below:

http://www.menieresinfo.com/treatment.html

But the best treatment of all is treating the Lyme and any of the other 'co-infections' you could be harboring. Such as Bartonella (I had this), or Babesia, or Erlichiosis, or Mycoplasma... Lots to read about here. Hope this helps!

Thank You for the reply!

I take 5mg Valium once at bedtime and have tried meclizine yet is has not helped. I could break the Valium in half try it twice a day to see if it helps. I will also follow the link for more info as able.

The VEDA link really described what I experience.

Thank You to all and Bless you
