I am taking Metronidazole two weeks on / two weeks off, then a regular does of minocycline and Amantadine every day.

This past few weeks I have noticed that I am getting really manic.

I am now stuttering and having extreme concentration issues much worse.

I just started the Amantadine two weeks ago. PCP said it would help, but I think it may be making it worse.

I have my first LLMD appointment march 27th.

Is this some kind of weird HERX or a bad med reaction?

Very common reaction, really.

What is your liver support?

It can still be a rough ride but you may need better support methods to help make this easier.

Liver support may be called "herx support" - sound familiar?

What kind of supplements has your doctor suggested?

"Common" in that it's all part of this complex mix of infections - and the herxheimer reaction - the toxicity overload in your body.

I can't say about the Amantadine. In the past that was both a miracle to me but also, later, not good. It can cause agitation. Not sure why you are taking it but you might reassess that.

The infections must be treated.

But, most LLMDs know how hard both infection & treatment can be on the liver, and we must have our liver functioning as well as possible to beat illness and recover.

So, most LLMDs suggest "liver support" - usually Milk Thistle is the herb suggested but there are others and - timing matters.

Also, along with some of the Rx for Babesia, Milk Thistle may be substituted with another supplement or just timed away from Rx.

NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) is another liver support.

Magnesium & Fish Oil are important to help offset that "manic" overstimulated toxicity, too.

If the term "herxheimer" or all this "support" stuff is new to you, do you want some links explaining some of the terms and concepts?
