I started a Mepron and Zithromax combo and within 2 doses I started having intense abdominal pain. I started the Mepron a day before, so I am pretty sure it is the culprit. It is like a sharp cramping. I don't know any better way to describe it. I also had some bile reflux as well. The pain was so bad that I had to take a pain pill and almost went to the ER. I have had a lot of liver problems in the past, so I don't know if it is that or just a side-effect. Has anyone had the same problem?

Oh, and I have now started taking it with fattier foods and peanut butter. It is a little bit better, but it is still painful.

You should get your liver numbers checked just to be sure. Your llmd should have given you some lab slips for this purpose. Call their office and let them know.

Far better to go off mepron and discover what is wrong than destroy your liver.

Are you on any liver support? I.e. milk thistle?

I got them checked a week ago (the day before starting all the meds). I have been taking glutathione. I want to stay on the meds because I know they are really effective, but I also don't want to mess up any more organs!
