I have developed red dry patches on my face, mostly around my mouth. They aren't too serious but are annoying and slightly itchy. I've switched to fluoride free toothpaste but they persist. I really feel they are a lyme symptom.
I have an organic unrefined coconut oil that I was using for cooking but I didn't really like the results. This oil is white and thick like shortning. Can I use this on my face for the patches?
I know coconut oil is good for parasites but didn't know if it has to be a specific brand or type.

Might be that you don't have enough vit. A...? I used to get cracks by my lips if I didn't have enough.
I just saw a coconut & sesame oil combination on one website. It looked good... You can eat it or use it for body care.
Well last night I washed my face with just water then put the oil on it. I also put a small amount on the lash lines of each eye, as I had researched it and found that some people use it for blepharitis.
This morning I woke up with much improved eyes! The other patches have just slight improvement but oh man, my eyes! I am used to waking up in the morning and not being able to focus properly for about 20 minutes. This morning I could focus in just a few minutes.
I do remember waking up in the night and my chin was itching. I wonder if things were reacting to the oil.
Sparkle I have had those cracks but these are different. These are just patches where the skin is really flakey and raised, like eczema or psoriasis. As if the skin is "turning over" really fast compared to surrounding skin.
Will update again after using it longer. I'm also thinking about a study I read about ivermectin. They have found that this type of rash and blepharitis often clears up with ivermectin.
