I have been having horrible stomach burning with a trace of blood in my urine and bladder burning.
My PCP gave me Bactrim DS, but it has not helped. He now wants me to get a CT-Scan of the abdomen and pelvis. Would this show anything related to interstitial cystitis? Of course, my PCP probably doesn't know anything about IC.
I saw a urologist last year that said possible IC, but he did not do anything for me. I am miserable again with no help in sight.

I used to get this and what helped me was to chew some 3-4 Tums or drink a little baking soda mixed in water to ease the burning and pain.
I chewed the tums a few times a day.
Don't eat anything acidic. Eat very bland foods.
Lots of water.
Try nettle tea as well.
As far as I know, the only way to diagnose IC is for them to look at the bladder lining with a camera in the operating room. I had this done but they didn't see much.
I truly believe it was lyme and did not know I had it at the time.
I tried DMSO instillations but they did not work for me. They helped mildly because of the lidocaine they contained. Maybe just some instilled lidocaine would help calm things down for you?
I don't think a CT scan would show IC. It would rule out a lot of other stuff so it may be worth doing.

Treat parasites, ESP bilharziasis, this causes IC and is NOT ever deteted by testing methods in the USA, but can be picked up energetically!
