I am adding cryptolepis to my protocol.
What should I expect. My LLMD says people tend not to herx from it. And they havent had any complaints from it and that their patients love it.
Should I start out slow. Did you herx??

Start out slow and work up. I had a mild herx from it, but I started on too high a dose.

I had a herx from it too, dropped down the dose and its been fine.
I wouldn't start it at the full teaspoonful 3x/day. Maybe start with a quarter or half and work up from there.

No its for babs.
Im trying Abart for Bart. Cant do Levaquin. Already did rifampin is messes up my other meds. So we said we will try A bart and then maybe add septra back.

The cryptolepis should help with both bart and babs.
1 teaspoon works out to 5 droppers full. I would start with 1 dropper or even 1/2 dropper for the first dose and then work up by increasing by 1/2 or 1 dropper at a time.
It can cause a herx just like any other herb or med. But you could be one of the lucky ones who just feel better with very little herxing.
In 2009 when hubby tried to take this for the 2nd time he couldn't tolerate it -- it caused burning head pain that didn't seem to want to go away. But he was able to take it last summer with other babesia meds with no problem.
Just start low and slow and see how you do.
The first time hubby took cryptolepis he worked up to 1 tablespoon 3 times per day and at that dose it stopped his Parkinsonian tremors. That was the first thing that had stopped that symptom in about 10 years. And it also stopped his seizure-like activity from bart.
But the supply of the herb ran out and then the symptoms all came back. Took about 2 years on meds to get back to the same place. No tremors and no seizures in about a year now.
At the time he was on the cryptolepis he was on pretty low dose meds for lyme and had not treated bart or babs aggressively. In my opinion combining the herb with meds for babs and bart probably is the best way to go -- more cost effective and probably longer lasting results.

The most likely herx symptoms would be an increase in whatever your bart or babs symptoms are.

I've been on it a few weeks.....im up to two dropper's a day. I def herx but differently than other herx's. The first thing I noticed was my brain felt like it was shaking, and increased air hunger initally. Ive been very up and down lately but I think it's improved my fatiuge and air hunger.
