I would like to know if anyone has experienced nerve and muscle pain in both legs and lower back pain and can say that it was either caused by or aggravated by Lyme disease. I have had terrible leg pain which progressed to lower back pain as well since last spring.

I have had mris of the lumbar spine which does show herniated and bulging discs in the L4 and L5 region but there are indications of inflammation in the sacral area as well.

Since this pain began I have developed other neuro Lyme symptoms and I am wondering if the back could be part of this as well.

I think having structural problems like bulging discs are just a place for Lyme to settle.

Much of your inflammation goes right there.

I have a bulging disc at the same area ( if my memory serves me correctly ).

Not fun. Spinal decompression helps me and Turmeric.

I suffered with chronic lower back and leg pain for three years before recently being diagnosed with peripheral artery disease (PAD).

Please ask your doctor to check you for PAD and spinal stenosis.

Good luck!

I've had alot of relief from seeing a good osteopath who specializes in myofascial release, but he was hard to find. He doesn't take insurance, so he can spend a half hour to an hour with his patients doing manual therapy. Best of luck, hope you feel better.

Turmeric is the same as curcumin.

I buy mine at Swanson's Vitamins... NOW brand.

Thank you everyone! I will try the turmeric for sure. I am allergic to Advil, etc so I haven't been able to take OTC anti-inflammatory meds. It's also a good idea to check the arteries. In addition I'm going to look into myofascial release.

I have had this for many years(20?). Its mostly in my lower/mid back, hip/thigh region, neck, trapezius going into the shoulders. I dont think its so much joint(bone) pain, but muscle/nerve/tendon pain.

Its funny, but my right knee has been in pain for at least 15 years and it has basiclly been pain free for the last 10 months or so. It just doesn`t make any sense. I did nothing to rehab it or change my daily routine at all. My other areas do bother me a bit more though.

Would this be considered symptomatic of lyme?

It has been my experience as well as other people I know that particular joints can hurt like heck for a length of time and then one day like magic the pain just completely disappears. To me, yes, that's Lyme.

Migrating pain is a hallmark of Lyme.
