I just had pararthyroid surgery and the doctor removed three out of my four parathyroids. Now I have to supplement with calcium. The doctor has me on citracal which is calcium citrate plus vitamin D.
I have to take eight pills a day. Does someone have a better type of calcium. These pills have all kinds of additives.
Also, they are making me horribly nauseous. I have to take them or I could end up in the ER in a very dangerous state from low calcium.
Please help!!!

My aunt is 94 and her doctor told her to take OsCal. She has been on it over 20 years and has no bone loss and gets around really well.
