If I could cut my head off and live I think I owuld be ok.

My main problems now are still the off balance and ringing in ears 24/7.. Could this be lyme?

I seem to be able to deal with my other symproms but this off balance, ear ringing and werid head feelings are driving me crazier..

Have had these symptoms from the beginning , there are days worse than others.. The ENT keeps saying sinus infection..

When my head is this way my anxiety is much worse so is my mood..

Can anyone relate?? Tks

Drop the ENT.

What you describe was my worst symptom pre diagnosis. I was diagnosed with Labyrinthitis, which is an infection/inflammation in the labyrinth in your ear (part of your vestibular (balance) system.)

Guess what can cause it...LYME (per John Hopkins).

In my personal experience this is either Lyme or Babesia or both.

Today, my dizziness / off balance feeling (I never had vertigo btw) is gone 99.9% of the time. But I still have mild tinnitus which I never had before lyme.

These were my initial symptoms, that were labeled 'Meniere's disease'.

This page is very useful.

I worship the neuro that decided to put me on low sodium diet and gave me teeny dose of valium. Got me off the couch and back to living.

FWIW - I'm better and have been off abx for 7 years now. But, my ears still ring - I no longer get the dizzies and ear fullness though.

I was diagnosed with Menieres and lost 20% of my hearing during 'grand mal' vertigo episodes. Valium and a low - sodium diet helped me as well.

BCB1200,

Did your inflammation / ear fullness go away? This has been my most nagging symptom. It seems to get worse and worse. The dizziness is not as bad as it once was, but nothing has seemed to help my ear problem. I sometimes feel that if I didn't have ear issues, I might be close to 100% on my good days.

Some say this ear problem does not resolve.

Ear fullness, tinnitus and hearing loss along with some loss of balance were all symptoms I had before my DX of Lyme Disease.

My LLMD prescribed Valtrex 1000 mg 2 x day and recommended lysine at least 1000 mg / day before I had the results of IgeneX. Lysine is a nutritional supplement that you can get in many pharmacies. Take it separate from the Valtrex.

Doing this has helped the aural fullness and actually improved my hearing a little bit. I am occasionally bothered by the aural fullness, but there is a drastic improvement since using both meds.

The theory is that the herpes virus can attack your auditory and vestibular system, causing inflammation. Perhaps you could discuss with your LLMD. They have made an incredible difference for me.
