Wondering about others' experiences with beta glucan. I just started last week. Had some indications my immune system needed a boost: CD57 went from 112 to 70; had a shingles episode.
So my doctor has me trying Immutol, it has 350 mg. of 1,3/1,6 beta glucan. I'm supposed to take 1-2 capsules, 2x/day.
So far, I'm just taking 1 per day, and it makes me feel a bit queasy, and unfocused. Also a bit tired.
What experiences with beta glucan have others had? Can it help to raise CD57 while taken along with maintenance herbs, like andrographis, samento, serrapeptase?
Thanks.

That's encouraging information. I'll check out the links you posted, too.
I'm just at 350 mg of bg, and feeling queasy, but sticking with it. It's interesting about the TF. I've heard about it for years, but have never used it. My holistic PCP has suggested trying it at some point. My LLMD has not mentioned it, but would be open to me talking to him about it.
The last time I was tested for viruses was at the time of my original lyme testing, back in '05. I'd have to dig up my labs to check. Have had no recent testing for viruses.

I take Xymogen brand "Immunotix 3-6" beta glucan 1,000mg daily. I hope it helps support my immune system. Have not noticed a significant change but any little bit would be a good thing for me right now.

Timica- thank you for that wonderful info on Beta Glucans. I am going to try what was researched in the study -
Glucan #300 from Transfer Point
Thank you again. My wbcs are down and TF did not work for me due to the fact they are derived from colostrum and I am highly allergic to dairy. Thank you...

timaca, I've been taking the beta-glucans for at least a year and a half, probably 2yrs.
My doctor was going to let me try to stop taking the supplement for a month (back in November...) to see how much of a difference it was making. But then I ended up crashing and I got too sick. I decided it was not a good time to stop anything that might be supporting my immune system.
