Anyone tried this herb yet? It is what Buhner is now suggesting for babesia. It looks like it has some of the same active chemicals as cryptolepis.

Woodland Essence is the only source for the herb -- 8 ounces of tincture is $74 plus shipping. Suggested dose is 1 teaspoon 3 times daily for 2 weeks and then 1/2 teaspoon 3 times daily for an additional 2 weeks.

Hubby took cryptolepis at 3 times the above doses (1 tablespoon) and that did not work so I am not overly optimistic that this herb will work.

Currently Woodland Essence is waiting on a shipment from Africa so even if we wanted to try it it will not be available for another 6 weeks.

Still waiting -- Woodland Essence has not received their shipment yet. And then it takes them 2 weeks to tincture the herb. Now they are saying the herb will not be available until 1/1/12 or later.

Anyone else tried this herb?

Feelfit -- Any updates? Do you feel the herb helped?

Seibert: This is my third day... and where my feet were getting very neuropathic I believe because of the malerone being pulled, I took some of this and it helped. Foot pain from about the first year in has been my biggest problem. I am hoping that the wise herbalist is correct... I am surely giving it a go. Blessings -

willbeatthis,

Hubby took the sida acuta at 1 teaspoon 3 times per day for about 6 weeks. That was in combo with malarone, lariam, artemisinin, doxycycline, flagyl and ivermectin.

He pulsed the art and ivermectin -- 3 days per week on each and the lariam was once per week.

Right now he is at day 17 off of all antibiotics, antimalarials, antiparasitics and killing herbs. Has not had a major relapse, but various symptoms gradually coming back.

He feels like the sida acuta and ivermectin combo did something that none of the other babs meds had done in the past.

We are trying to go for 4 weeks off meds and then retest with hopefully 3 different labs to see where he is at.

P.S. If you have no issues with herpes viruses then I would also suggest trying the amino acid arginine as Buhner suggests -- hubby takes 1500 mg 3 times per day on an empty stomach. Seems to really help with increasing blood flow to the brain.

Hi Bea-

Thank you for responding. Wow... the sida hits you pretty hard. I am up to twice a day and that seems to be a lot.

My doc gave me paperwork and wants me to get a full parasite work up before he prescribes antiparasitics due to the side effects etc. I am going to do this next.

That is great about your husband being off all drugs for 17 days... I know that is big for him... heck it is big for any of us... I have EBV so I better pass on the arginine. Thank you though... I will keep you all in my thoughts... I hope the tests come out in your favor.... Blessings...
