- I'm sorry but it would help to know why you are asking so that replies can be tailored accordingly. I can speculate but will save time and wait to hear more. Hope you and loved ones are okay. Basically: Is there normal life after tracheotomy? For sure. There may be a scar and some therapy required for a while but the incision can heal. If due to lyme or other stealth infection, can people get better? Sure - with the right treatment & a brilliant ILADS-educated LL doctor. If you are having trouble breathing and think a trache is the only option, (??) I'm thinking it may be able to be avoided. More detail is needed, though, so you can get good replies. ** Are you under the care of a wise ILADS-educated LL doctor with much experience? Have you been assessed for babesia, mycoplasma and Cpn (Chlamydia pneumonia)? Taking cordyceps? Stinging Nettle? As support herbs, those help me breathe better. Diet free of: gluten; dairy; corn; soy? Assessed for mold? Evaluated for Parasites (especially lungworm, as it often accompanies lyme). -
