I really want to clean out my colon. I know alot of people have POUNDs of fecal matter stuck to the walls of their intestines. Id feel very refreshed if I could get all that out

I have regular bowel movements. I take fiber supplements to aid in that. Theyre always well formed bowel movements

But I really want to get my intestines CLEANED OUT and i dont want to get a colonic. The whole idea of that scares me. Maybe eventually ill get over that but for now ....dont want it

Any ideas on what I can do? THANKS!

Ever think of a bowel prep before a colonoscopy?

You drink (64 0z) the medication/solution at

home and it flushs everything out.

Not sure how you could get hold of the prep

materials for this without a prescription but it

definitely cleans you out.

^ see I've heard that it might clean you out but it doesnt scrap the intestinal walls of impacted fecal matter

its like a laxative. a laxative doesnt get rid of the impacted waste.

doglover.. that would be Miralax

I've had colonics. I don't see how they would "scrape" the intestinal walls. It's just a bunch of water.

Imagine a frying pan with cooked, dried food stuck on the pan. You soak it in water and it comes off easily.

That's what a colonic does.
They're not that bad.

If you have regular bowel movements, why do you think that you have "pounds of fecal matter" stuck to your intestines? Why would you feel better after you got everything all cleaned out?

Bowel cleanses can be harsh. If you wash out your intestines you can disrupt the healthy bowel bacteria that are currently protecting you from c.diff, yeast, and other nasty stuff infections. They do a lot for you (including immune support) that you don't even realize.

I just want you to think this through carefully before you do it. There is a lot of hype about bowel cleanses.

Lymetoo is right, they usually use generic Miralax as the bowel prep before colonoscopy. Of course the dose prescribed is different than that for constipation.

Vitamin C flush works great....: (I've found Perque Potent C Guard to be pleasantly tolerable)

I'm afraid to do any more colonics for the reasons you stated, sammy. Plus the fact that it could send me into A-fib. My last colonoscopy put me in A-fib that they almost had to shock me out of. It lasted 5 1/2 hrs.

I am very afraid of having another colonoscopy, but my father had colon cancer at an early age.

C-Salts (that Buhner recommends) is just Vit C and minerals.

And you can take 1 tablespoon when you're constipated.

Works great and it's effervescent so it's not acidic and won't mess your gut up in long run.

I find that Buhner's recommendations are well thought out and usually he does them too.

I have regular bowel movements. I am BEWILDERED at the amount of fecal matter that there is during a colonic.

Colonics aren't necessarily all about removing fecal matter. The colon is very dehydrated.....it doesn't matter how much water you drink.

After a colonic the colon becomes hydrated and toxins can easily travel through and exit the body.

Actually, you do not have pounds of fecal matter stuck to the walls of the intestines.

The mouth and teeth chew up food into small bits.
The stomach breaks the bits down into mush and liquid using hydrochloric acid.

The gall bladder drips bile that the liver has made into the small intestine, and this breaks down fats and oils into tiny globules.
The pancreas drips enzymes into the intestines, and this breaks the food down into molecules.

As the food matter passes through the small intestines, molecules of the various proteins, fats, and carbohydrates are absorbed through the membranes into the bloodstream.

Beneficial bowel bacteria in the large intestines work on the food matter passing through.
They don't understand everything that these bacteria do, but some of their actions include making some vitamins.

The large bowel continuously absorbs fluid from what is passing through.
Some of the toxins that are present can be absorbed too, so you don't want the bowel contents to just sit there for a long time.

When a physician uses a lighted tube to view the rectum and colon, fecal matter would block the view of the colon walls, and they would not be able to see any growths or other problems.

This is why you get a "colon prep," which is a laxative that forces the evacuation of all food and fecal matter.
But in doing this, you disrupt the normal bacteria that live there, and it can take a while for them to repopulate.

Doctors looking at the inside of your colon do not see pounds of fecal matter adhering to the walls.
You do not need to "scrape it off" because it's not stuck -- it passes through.

There is a colon cleanse that has you drink a concoction which then gels and forms to the shape of the intestine.
This then loosens and is passed out, with some fecal matter stuck to it.

People get all excited, thinking that they are cleaning out their intestines.
[Roll Eyes]

The intestinal membranes are self-cleaning.
If there is a problem with food "putrifying and rotting" then you really need to take digestive enzymes.
And probiotics.

Before you do a "bowel cleanse" you should try probiotics and Kefir.
Kefir contains lots of the beneficial bacteria that your intestines need.

I noticed a difference in my digestion right away...less gas and easier eliminations. Reduced aroma.
I was impressed with Kefir, as probiotics didn't seem to do much for me.

Maybe doing a parasite cleanse like Parastroy could help and chase out any unwanted critters in there.

Parasites/worms can play a big role in Lyme disease and is often an undiagnosed co-infection. Also doing salt/c would help clean things out as well. Just a thought.
