Hi everyone,
I was just wondering what your experiences were with bactrim specifically for bart.

Did you herx? If so, how often and what symptoms did you experience?

How long did it take to notice an improvement in symptoms?

If you are done treating bart how long did it take? And what did you take with the bactrim?

thanks so much

It works, go for it! I've been on it for five weeks (along with doxy) and I've herxed the whole time (herxes are lighter now than they were a few weeks ago). Major stiff neck, flu like symptoms. It's killing something (definitely worth trying).

Something leaves a nasty taste in my mouth, not sure if it's the bactrim, biaxin or the mino.

I think it's finally starting to help though. I did have some foot pain this morning but it is less frequent than it has been.

catgirl--maybe my problems are bart herx related and not babs again. I do feel a breakthrough and almost feel normal.

jackie81--not done yet, will probably take a long, long time.

I got rid of bart by taking Levaquin for 30 days followed by Bactrim DS for 11 months. The Bactrim was to treat babs, but doc said it also treats bart.

It worked in my case. Completed treatment 7 years ago and still symptom-free, enjoying my life.

All I took with the bactrim was artemesinin, and that was to treat babs.
