Shoot, I hope this is not an allergic reaction. I have been tolerating it so well. My back feels itchy. There is no red rash but sort of like hives ever so slightly. Could it just be a herx?

I only bring it up because this is such a serious (can be lethal) reaction to this med. So, you would not be over-reacting if you let your doctor's office know about this itchiness and hive-like feeling.
Hopefully, they will tell you what to look out for to avoid any danger. Mouth sores seem to be a typical sign of this syndrome.
Let us know how it goes.

Have you changed any of your soap products, shower gel, shampoo, laundry detergent, fabric softener...
Have you tried on any new clothes in the store where you might have come in contact with something?
Have you worn new clothes that you did not wash?
Is your skin really dry right now?
Are you on any other new meds or supplements besides the Bactrim?
Just some other things to think about before you call the doctor in the morning. They will probably ask you similar questions.
Still, good idea to hold your next dose of Bactrim until you talk with the doctor and figure out what is causing the rash.
Take care

I have excema and do tend to be dry, especially in the winter. TF, I read about that Steven's Johnson syndrome. I do not have a fever or flu like symptoms, but will be aware. I did use a different laundry soap a few weeks ago. I will let you know what the doc says, thanks.

I also have been eating lettuce which makes my lips itch. I love it so I suffer once in a while to have a salad. I had three this week, so it really could be that.

I took bactrim for a year and then slowly started developing an allergy to it.
Now I get hives when I take it

Oh fflutterby! You should not be eating that type of lettuce if it makes your lips itch!!! Does your tongue tingle or feel funny too? That could very well be a sign of an allergic reaction.
Please tell your doctor about this. You could have allergy testing done so that you could know what salad greens are safe for you to eat.

Thanks all. I always read everything AuntyLynn, before I take anything. I am well aware of the side effects. I called the Dr already too. I was looking for experiences.
No swollen tongue, no mouth sores. Nurse at Docs office said, stop it for now... to take benedryl. She saus Doc may have me try claritan and take before I take the bactrim or he may just swap it out.

Not to discount what others are saying here, but for me, Sammy (above) is spot on.
I started bactrim at the same time I started a new soap. One of my eyes was itching like crazy. I thought for sure it was the bactrim until I switched soap. I also tried a new fabric softener, but that wasn't it (it was the soap).
