First of all I live in New England.

Last summer, I was on monotherapy protocol from a very crappy LLMD.

Last fall I started seeing a great LLMD and now im on a cyst buster (flagyl) two days a week

Last summer I remember I had horrible heat intolerance. I was always sweating and just felt like a panting dog.

Were having random warm weather where I live today. its almost 65 degrees! its rather shocking considering just last week it was like 30.

I feel like im very heat intolerant again. The heat is making me feel dizzy, tired and lightheaded Im a little worried about the warm weather coming soon. Will i be even MORE heat intolerant this summer because im on the cyst buster? so ill have more spirochetes out and about in my body?

Does the heat kill the spirochetes?

I just need answers. if anyone else has a hard time with the summer heat. help me out with some tips that I can do this summer to keep myself from passing out! THANKS!

Q: Does the heat kill the spirochetes?

The human body cannot get hot enough to kill spirochetes while keeping the human alive.

LOW HEAT infrared sauna can be good as they don't get too hot, the heat penetrates more deeply, allowing circulation to help carry oxygen which is detrimental to spriochetes -- and also helps the body to sweat out some toxins.

Heat intolerance if a very real issue for many with lyme. Even one degree too much used to make me pass out. Now that takes about 5 degrees too much.

Heat exposure can also cause a set back of days to weeks for me.

Listen to your body about this. Talk to your LLMD as they need to know. You may need to get a "cooling vest" for summer &/or a ice pack routine for getting into your car, etc.

Homeopathic Glonoinum can help with heat intolerance. My Mom (who is unable to perspire) uses it so she doesn't get heat stroke, and says it really, really helps.

Yes, heat kills spirochetes - but I think they have to be kept at a really hot temp (over 104 degrees) for a while before they die. But they don't like heat, hence the lower than normal body temp of many of us with chronic Bb infection...

I don't know but wanted to pull that question out to be sure others can address it.

Not sure how I did not see Razzle's post but that's great info about the homeopathic.

Look at some "MS" sites.

Now, we all know that very often MS can be undiagnosed lyme - Cpn - or other chronic stealth infection.

Still, what helps some of the hallmark symptoms of MS, can help us. "MS" patients are often extremely heat intolerant.

Taking a page from their book on this topic helps us.

I'm too tired to do sort out links now but you can start with a search at Google for:

MS, cooling+vest

heat+intolerance

Another situation with heat is that one can loose too many electrolytes, leading to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

In dry climates, this can really sneak up on you because the perspiration evaporates so fast that you don't know you're sweating.

Salt AND potassium are needed, at a minimum. Salt alone won't work. A more complete electrolyte with other trace minerals is better, as these other minerals are also sweated away. The product I've used for years successfully is Electrolyte Stamina from Trace Minerals Research.

Best,

Cass A

Bb does not like heat. I agree with the other responses.

I definitely have heat intolerance. For me, I think it is partly high humidity that makes me sicker.

Do you have Babs? I think having Babs can make heat intolerance worse.

Daughter has heat intolerance as well. Yesterday was very warm in New England and a quick reminder of what she went through last year.

I think this is why exercise (weight lifting) helps to kill the spirochetes off. It's probably one of the best ways to cause internal heat long enough in our bodies (muscles metabolizing).

My lyme doc told me that lyme patients either run hot or cold. I never thought I'd like the heat, but it works for me now since I'm usually cold all the time.

Catgirl---DIDO--- I've been saying this for years---

And after your workout, take a sauna or steam bath, it will surely kill a few more buggers!
