Hi everyone. In the past few weeks, I have noticed increased wobbliness and unsteadiness with my legs. I also am twitching a lot in my arms and legs. I have an enormous amount of coinfections and obviously lyme as well. Other than magnesium and vit b12, can anyone share what was worked for them to alleviate this symptom.

It is incredibly difficult to walk after certain activities and it is both frightening and embarrassing for me. Thanks so much, Jess

Hi. You sound just like my husband. He has gotten foot drop over the months. LLMD says Lyme is the cause of the foot, Babs for the rest of him. Hes on Vancomycin, Zithromax, Tindamax for cyst busters. he takes malerone, planqunil for the babs. He now uses a cane. But of course hes also a 60 year old man who doesn't care what people think about it. Not sure which is working, but there is an improvement. Very slight, but its only been 1 1/2 weeks with these meds. The tremors have definitely decreased. Breathing has improved. Neck pain lessened. He does have accupunture for his foot. But again, hes just started.
Do you have an LLMD?

Hi, thanks for the response. Yes I have a llmd and am about to begin Bicilin shots. I also will most likely have to do some form of IV antibiotics as well. I also have a ton of viruses and other coinfections, so I know they will have to be treated in some fashion.

I see my llmd on tuesday again, so I am sure we will discuss all of this. I wish your husband a full recovery.

Chastain, I'm sorry you are going through this. I too had a horrid time with this symptom to the point that I eventually was unable to work my legs. This is not said to scare you but to say that I was totally bedridden for 9 mnonths, BUT......

I went the IV route for 16 months and had huge improvement, but for me, after many rounds of treatment for Bartonella and Babesia, it was the bicillin that oddly was my turn around med.

It knocked me for a loop in taking it in the beginning, but I know they are right when they say it takes finding the right drug for the right bug.

I went from bedridden, to wheel chair, to walker, to cane to a year of physical therapy so I could actually climb stairs without gripping a rail to get up. There were times I wondered if I would ever get rid of the wobbliness and unsteadiness, but yes, you on a a very positive path by seeking an LLMD.

Good luck to you and stick with it. I swear that this treatment DOES work. For me, it was 5 1/2 years but I'm now only on a maintenanace dose of malarone for Babs and some herbals but pretty close to living a normal life.

Many people can do it in a faster amount of time, so don't let MY time frames bother you. I was just saying that it CAN be reversed and that is a good thing to know since no one wants to think the way they are feeling NOW is going to last forever. Hugs to you.

Cathy

Tdtid, thanks so much for the response. I appreciate the encouragement about these terribly distressing symptoms. If you dont mind my asking, what herbal meds did you take, if you can recall? Jess

Chastain,

For me, I was NOT taking herbals while on IV or when on Bicillin injections. I did take Zhang way back in the beginning days along with my oral abx, but have no clue if they did any good since I had such a long way to go after that no matter what.

The herbals I was talking about are actaully some I take NOW and it's for Babesia only. I'm not at high doses since we are trying to get me totally off everything but I'm on Byron White A-Babs and also Crytolepis.

I know that here and there I was told to take some herbs with various antibiotics, but again, this was in a time frame that I wasn't all there, so trying to remember what the heck I was doing is kind of hard to recall.

If you go either the IV or Bicillin route, I really wouldn't start mixing other herbs etc with it unless your Doctor tells you to. Some things just don't mix and you don't want to get yourself in trouble.

Good luck to you!

Cathy
