I'm in month 6 of treatment on oral doxy and flagyl.
My current LLMD who is not very good (I'm switching), has me pulse flagyl for a week once a month.
I simply cannot make it through that week AND work and I need to continue to work. I either herx too hard or it's too toxic. I think it's a hardcore herx.
Does it matter if I break the flagyl doses up and pulse weekly for a couple days? I cannot handle a full week of flagyl continuously. I know my llmd will say "do as I say."

Phill,I can't believe that you can take flagyl with no reaction. I'm jealous. It literally makes my body/brain hurt and weak down to my soul. lol
T. Maria, where did you hear once daily was ok? Just want to make sure cysts are still getting busted. I might be able to handle a 500mg/daily...Just not the full load.

My llmd was very specific about this - she gave me a 6 page report after my appt and it included detailed instructions about everything. With regards to the flagyl it says if you cannot handle 2 weeks on and off go down to 3 consecutive days a week and if that is not tolerable go down to one a day.
It also says take it with vit B6 (50mg 2x per day)
I am not sure if this is general or specific to my treatment plan. I am on 3 other abx as well.
I hope you can find something that works for you. I have heard it is very important in treatment.
Good luck!

You said that you are on doxy too? I just read through the report again and it says " if you are taking doxy, it is best to take it 1 hour before doxy or 2 hours after.
Hope this info helps!
